The devastated family of a 21-year-old Air Force veteran gunned down in The Bronx early Saturday had planned to celebrate Memorial Day weekend on the Intrepid.


Instead, they were left wondering Monday how anyone could be so heartless to take the life of Fabian Gonzalez, a Florida soldier who joined the military...


“I’ve had no rest. I’m tired of crying,” said Gonzalez's heartbroken mom, Stephanie Saldana-Sanchez, 40. “He was a loving son. He was funny.”


Gonzalez was out with his cousin in East Tremont on Saturday when a gunman opened fire, striking Gonzalez in the chest and the cousin in the leg, police said.
 
carrying a gun in new york city is illegal unless you're an 'only one', a politician, or wealthy. the relatives should be protesting to the NY state and city government for not allowing this airman the means to protect himself.

and I noticed that Bloomberg didn't have anything to say about this, but damn sure had it been a cop that had been killed, Bloomie would be all over the news demanding congress do something.
