How the Mormon church shaped Romney (long and boring)

The Bible is based on actual events, certainly the New Testament anyway, whereas the Mormon Bible is just plagiarism for the most part and made up shit for the rest. The resurrected Jesus Christ did not visit the Americas for instance, that was a total figment of Joseph Smith's imagination..

So you really think a burning piece of vegetation demanded unshod feet and sent Moses to insult Pharaoh, or that Noah fit two of every type of animal on the ark less than 7,000 years ago?

You are quite interesting... And those events aren't even the weirdest.

You really believe Elijah parted water by slapping it with his cloak?

You can swallow all that but call people who believe in Angels with novels weird? And just because it is "weird" to you we should choose the leader you want?

You've called others bigots for that kind of tone regarding a religion.

Just sayin'.

I didn't say anything about the Old Testament, I was talking about the New Testament which is rooted in actual events. Jesus Christ was a real person as indeed was Muhammad, neither of which ever travelled to the Americas. I am not religious despite being brought up as a Catholic but I find the Book of Mormon to be mostly fairy tales invented by Joe Smith without any grounding in historical fact.

Pointing out his bigotry in terms he can understand there, Onceler. People don't even realize when they are stereotyping when it comes to religion. (BTW - I do recognize that I do it with Scientologists... I do think they are absolutely absurd and will have no apology for them).

So you do this by simply rejecting the part that predicted the coming of Christ and pretending it doesn't exist so you can call another religion "weird"? You think Jesus walked on water. I get that, but I don't find it "weird", and don't understand those who would, that he could travel to another continent if you believe that he can rise from the dead in three days and float up into the heavens riding clouds.

"Weird" is relative, religion is often "weird", but to use it as a basis to try to tell Americans how to vote from a land across the pond? Really?

Yes, all religions are weird but Mormonism is essentially a business as much as a religion. Could you see the Catholic Church, for all its faults, investing in Las Vegas casinos and hotels? The first time I went to Poland on business, I was with an American from US Sprint and even he was amazed that the Mormon run Marriot hotel in Warsaw had a 24 hour casino and wall to wall escorts in the bars.

Holy shit, don't get your knickers in a twist! If you want to vote for Romney then so be it, I think he will be a disaster if elected but it's your country!! He will do his level best to help his chums on Wall Street to fleece and finagle once again but if you want to find out the hard way, go ahead.
