The alt right has always existed in America and elsewhere under various names and forms. While its appeal is usually racist and nationalist, immigration has changed the focus. While the more radical elements are small its range attracts many who live on the fringes of society. People who are lost, usually young men who are easily convinced. He knows all this. He's just trolling because he doesn't want to admit that Trump needed the Alt-Right to win.
