How will Ted Kennedy stop the wind farm from wrecking his view now?

It's not in his "backyard."

I'm not a fan of Kennedy, but his reasons for opposing this windfarm had nothing to do with its proximity to the "compound," which would have been completely unaffected by it.

It's just Rush Limbaugh propoganda...

You are correct, it has nothing to do with his views from the compound. It has more to do with him and his neighbors not wanting to give up their sailing areas. He has NO legitimate reason for opposing the windfarms. None.

Acting as if it is "Rush propaganda" is simply "kennedy propaganda" being spoon fed to you by moveon.org.

It's simple NIMBYism. While I don't particularly like it, I don't see what the big deal is. He's representing his constituents. What's the problem?

I don't understand that at all. Sail around the damn things. There is a ski area in WV that is across the valley from a large wind farm, and on a clear day it is a fascinating sight. Its a tourist attraction as far as I'm concerned.

There is also a puny sigle turbine near Beech Mountain, NC, also a nice sight. Yet a recent proposal from to put several on a farm near Boone, NC was soundly rejected, and this is a liberal, college town.

Yeah applachian college. I used to live in NC....
That's it. The guy who proposed it owns a mountain top farm that has been in his family for generations. Its no longer economical to farm it, so it looks like he'll be forced to sell his land to a big developer to make more vacation homes. So the NIMBY libs blew that deal.

I don't know that the libs have the market cornered on NIMBYism.

They do in these two cases cited. :)

They are also against drilling for oil in ANWR, for natural gas off the east coast, and against all nuclear power. In fact, I don't know of a single energy producing project that they support. It makes you wonder what their true agenda is.

I do not have a problem with him representing his constituents. But in this case he is only representing some of them. His wealthy neighbors. Is he representing MA in general? Are we not supposed to be PROMOTING clean energy?

In my opinion he is not representing what is in the best interest of his state.

I don't understand it either. The only thing I can figure is that the Kennedy's are worried that one of their drunken clan will run into the things.

LOL.

Seriously though I think it points to the true agenda of extreme liberals. They don't give a damn about the environment. All they want is the power to tell other people what to do and make them miserable.

Jeb put the brakes on drilling off the FL coast.
