lol there is no setback, Israel is going to do whatever they damn well please. (and to a lesser extent, the usa will as well).

I would agree with your other comments. It is not likely to matter who gets elected in November. Israel is on a leash right now, but they are capable of breaking it and they will if they feel threatened. If Iran gets close to a nuclear weapon... Israel will repeat the Osirak operation.

we also had not been at war for nearly 30 years. after being at war for the past 10 years, there is no way congress would approve the funds or the people would be behind it. the support for the war in afghanistan is extremely low. attacking iran will not be the same as attacking libya. there will be war if we attack iran. america simply does not have the stomach. you cannot compare america directly after 9/11, being nearly 30 years from war, to america 11 years from 9/11 and america after a decade plus of war.

exactly... If Iran came out today and said 'we have a nuclear weapon' it is not going to matter who is in town... the Israelis are going to strike. Just as they did in Iraq.

I doubt we would ever commit to a ground war in Iran as we did in Iraq or Afghanistan. That said, we absolutely have the will power to attack them. I think it would be more along the lines of an aerial assault via missles, drones, stealth bombers etc...

I would agree with you that we would not have the stomach for another ground war.
