IMO, if there is one, is that it unites people.

Most forget about divisions and differences and step up to the plate with generosity and try to be the best they can be.

It's a shame it takes a tragedy to bring people together.
 
Yes it does bring out the best. Finally got at&t tower going, still no power or water, great little neighborhood here though and we are all helping and sharing what we have. Thank-you God!

Meh, I think it demonstrates that we aren't as divided as the media tells us we are. For every Antifa thug and Nazi there's tens of millions of Americans who would go out of their way to help their neighbors in a situation like that.

Silver lining is right.

The only people united by hurricane Irene would be Fema and the idiots who lose their homes in Florida every 5 to 10 years
