What do you define as a trouncing? Losing control of the Senate or the House? I don't htink either will happen. I think there's to much a case of incumbant fever.
Id say we should expect to lose both House and Senate, Im expecting an October suprise.
Democrats are bored and unenthused, Republicans are scared and excited about voting.

On the other, a drubbing makes it much more likely that he will be re-elected; it would be '94 for Clinton all over again.

Its just a entertaining and/or interesting to find out how Rush feels about an issue as it is to find out how Chris Matthews or Maddow or O'Reilly feel about an issue....
whats the big deal...you will probably agree with one these people to some degree anyway....so grow the fuck up.
I think they lose the House, but it's hard to put together a scenario where the GOP takes back the Senate. They'll close the gap for sure, but to take control, they'd need everything imaginable to go their way, and then some.
We will see, if the Republicans dont get both, egg on there face in my opinion.
And with that we wound up with a split of powers that helped us to drive the US to heights never before achieved. We even almost started to pay back a minuscule portion of debt...

I think that is unrealistic. With only 1/3 of the Senate seats open it is much more difficult to take control. If they don't make a large gain in the Senate, yeah. I'd agree. Take the Congress, almost take the Senate is a "win" for Rs and the US.
I feel as the tea bags have more time they will reveal more of their craziness and the Dems won't lose as predicted.

It would take a very serious setback & double-dip for unemployment to get close to 20% or even 15%. The rate is actually getting better, albeit slowly. I fail to see what the GOP could do or would have done differently where we would have avoided a fall to 10%.
As for Ford, they're doing fine on their own, as is GM (who would have gone out of business w/out the bailout). Maybe you would have preferred GM out of business, but not me.
