I am hopeful

There’s a reason we have two parties in this country, and both Democrats and Republicans have certain beliefs and certain principles that each feels cannot be compromised.

But, what I think the American people are expecting, and what we owe them, is to focus on those issues that affect their jobs, their security, and their future.

Because the most important contest we face is not the contest between Democrats and Republicans.

Which changes nothing, they passed it to their own "demise" they'll protect it and continue to believe that if you "just find out what's in it" you are going to love it to their own "demise". The Obama made it clear he's willing to compromise on taxes and on the tax and cap crap, but not on this.
