Prosecutors only use grand juries to get an indictment because they don't have enough (or any) solid evidence to make an arrest.

You must have gotten that tidbit from Fox or a rightwing blog and thought it would sound great to post here.

The Fifth amendment of the US Constitution requires grand juries for all alleged felony crimes in federal courts.

According to Wikipedia, the State of Georgia requires grand juries for all felonies.

The State of New York has requirements and protocols for grand juries in felony cases which I am not familiar with, but I'm sure Alvin Bragg is.

Uh, no. Wrong again. Your assumptions of grand juries is incorrect. If there were enough evidence for formal criminal charges, there's no need for a grand jury.

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime (aka, felony), unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia"

Then why is there no need for a grand jury in numerous murder charges? Because there is enough evidence to arrest and charge without a grand jury?

Because grand jury laws vary by State, if state law is being invoked.

In federal courts, grand juries are required by the US Constitution for all felonies.


That completely contradicts your claim that grand juries are only used where the evidence is weak.

Since you obviously got that talking point from Fox or another rightwing internet source, I suggest you question the quality of the sources you are using.

It's up to the states, now? Isn't he being charged in NY state?

Grand juries are not used in all federal cases.
