“I have the right to do anything I want to do. I'm the president of the United States."

Are you saying that once Congress makes a decision to have tariffs, that the President is more or less obligated to execute it?
There might be a little wiggle room, but very, very little wiggle room. trump cannot just ignore the law, or worse yet make up laws that just do not exist. Can you imagine being arrested for breaking a law that does not exist? Well that is what trump is threatening, and beginning to do.

State for the record your unequivocal position that the laws passed by Congress do NOT somehow make the establishment of specific tariff rates the domain of Presidential executive proclamation.
Congress has expressly delegated some authority to the president to set tariffs. If trump follows those limited powers, he is within the law. It would be legal, but maybe not advicable.

Instead, trump is veering into illegal territory. he is just making up laws that do not exist. he could have tried to get Congress to change the laws, but he did not.

Sorry. You are egregiously in error. The way Trump is setting the tariffs is the process of the US government, per the laws I posted for your edification, that you apparently ignored.

So, on 1/6/21, lets say the coup succeeded, Pence refuses to certify the 2020 election and the results when back to the states. What do you think would have happened?

If your answer is: "oh, trump would have just gone back to Mara-lardo like a good loser of the election". I'm sorry, but your opinion is a foolish one.
If (and this is just imaginary) Pence went along with it and some new electors were seated, there would have been more legal battles in the courts, he would have lost, he would have left., we already know, by what actually happened, that once all avenues to change the outcome were exhausted he would leave... no magic third term will happen, there is no avenue for that change to take place.

The best predictor of future actions are past actions... We know he leaves, because he has.

The best predictor of future actions are past actions. I agree. And last time trump tried to nullify an election and remain president. Don't you see your own logic defeats your own argument?

Also - "The best predictor of future actions are past actions" - BUT IF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS HAVE CHANGED THEN THE OUTCOME MAY AND LIKELTY WILL BE DIFFERENT.

What's changed? No more guardrails. Congress, SCOTUS and his cabinet were all picked for the same reason. Loyalty over competence.

I really don't understand why you're being so obtuse. trump didn't want to leave last time, and he won't this time either. The problem is - now there's no one to stop him.
