I Just Met Dennis Kucinich

I need to see that movie. Cool.

It was really something. But, reactions are so mixed, it's amazing. The person I saw it with, thought that it brought back the "crazy vietnam vet" stereotype for Iraqi vets. And a woman walking out in front of me was seriously offended by the last scene, and that scene has something to do with the American flag. Nothing I haven't already been doing to the flag though, all year, so I wasn't offended. (not burning it in case anyone has a heart attack)

So it really raises a lot of emotions and thoughts. I loved it. I personally feel the facts are the facts as far as how these guys are coming home, especially after 4 tours, I mean this isn't Vietnam. This is much, much worse.

I'm really looking forward to it.

And, in some ways, the hell these guys are going through is worse than vietnam. Not to diminish Nam, I'm sure that was hellish in its own right. But, a 12 month tour and you were out for good.

You do know that it is a sign of serious distress, not that the "nation" is in distress? Right?

It is basically sending an SOS between ships when the radio is out type of thing, not political speech...

But heck, it invokes reactions so... :dunno:

Way to overanalyze something Damo!

Yes, I know the military is the one who first used it, and in what way, but in country, so to speak, it has taken on the meaning of a political statement, "country in distress".

A lady in a nearby neighborhood was flying her flag that way, until she got tired of the neighbors calling the sherrif and reporting somebody in distress at her house. She took it down altogether now.

:D

Oh, concern trolls.

All she had to do was explain to the Sheriff, once.
