"if you aren't this then that"... No. It is not a threat as well. You did not meet the criteria and he didn't say it to someone who did.

In order to be a threat it needs to have all the elements. "Saying, not you but if you were different person entirely" pretty much makes it not a threat to you, in fact it makes it not a threat to anyone.

How is it possible to threaten other members on an anonymous internet board?

Lichgold, like several other MAGAts with severe anger issues, is likely to end up hurting himself or others. Sad.

That's part of the problem, when I first started the board I spoke to authorities about it. In order for it to rise to something they can actually take action on they need to know that it is possible.

"If I knew where you lived I would"... not so much of a threat.

"If you weren't you, but were some other person" (If you weren't a gal, e.g.) again, not a threat...

In order to meet a true threat it has to be something like the ones that were posted about GWB... People can find out where he was going, threatening a public figure like that... even if you don't currently know where they live will rise to it because you can find out where they live, go there... etc.

Here on a messageboard... One would almost have to Doxx them in order to make it rise to the level of action by law enforcement.

However, if we feel someone is overtly and solely harassing someone we can and will take action. It just won't be because of "threats".. usually.

He's threatened to shoot me a few times. Nothing happened to him then either.

It appears the juiciest posts, like him threatening to shoot me in the head with a .270, were lost in the transition. Those listed below are very tame by comparison.

On the other hand the Garland DOJ decided that an old man in Utah posting threats on X against the most tightly guarded man in the world was "credible" and rolled in pre dawn and executed him. Did they think him killing Biden was possible? And people can't believe America voted to get rid of these thugs.

Hence my earlier post about the "if it is a public figure" it increases credibility in the fact they can be found much easier than say, some guy called "Joe" on a small forum in the back corner of the interwebs... So, if someone threatens them with a specific plan it tends to get their attention.

Agreed on the legal aspect, but, in line JPP's discussions on the superiority of certain political philosophies and religions over others, there's a moral aspect to people verbally abusing or threatening others.

If a person doesn't have morals, I understand why they don't care, but if they do, then it becomes a matter of debate.

Damo, do you believe it's moral to verbally abuse and/or threaten other members even if within the bounds of the law and forum rules? Is it immoral?

When somebody agrees to meet the pieces of shit in real life. Most of the gimps who demand that from other posters usually don't show up, but those who do inevitably wind up crying like little babies and suing people who bust their kneecaps and then urinate on their heads. According to a friend ... They also never own up to being taken down, so taking vids of them rolling around on the ground and crying is also recommended.

I believe he does but is smart enough to realize they won't get the help, so any concern is wasted on them.

Better to encourage them going out with honor instead of whimpering and drooling all the way to the inevitable end. :thup:
