I see a trend...

The Republicans run down the economy, they talk about how bad it is, they talk about a second dip, they rip Preident Obama and finally the market starts to drop...

Just about that time some numbers come out that contradict that mood that was set. Jobs numbers or housing numbers or such, and the market jumps back.... Starting the cycle again!
 
The DOW just dropped below 10K. If it holds there I think it will set off a selling point, a psychological barrier. This has nothing to do with the economy, just an observation.

And you are just noticing this "trend"? The Ds spent 8 years trashing the economy after an attack on our economic infrastructure...

Not the way the R's are doing it now. Anyway I hate the argument, they did it to!

Looks like with the new jobless numbers we are likely going above 10,000 soon. Sorry, you guys almost had what you wanted!

trashing the economy for political gains is happening with both parties. the dems did it hardcore running up to the last election. pisses me off like crazy.
 
Just looked, sorry for you and your Republcian friends... its back over 10,000 already!

Right. "Not that way"...

They called 6.5% unemployment "the worst economy since the Great Depression" and that was LOOOOOONG before the collapse.

I certainly hope it doesn't hold below 10K. You are mistaken if you think I want it to. (At the moment of this posting in Real Time the DOW is at 9991. It is my sincere hope that we close today over 10K.)

Globalization is destroying our middle class, but the fascists want to pretend it's not happening.
 
Its not ok.. and dumb obama still hasnt implemented any SEC regulations to avoid another absolute collapse in stock prices. Still unregulated hedgefunds that use naked short selling with no uptick to hammer stocks down. As soon as there is uncertainty they attack.

That wasn't what I said. I said you were just noticing a "trend" because you ignored it earlier. The OP here was about how you "noticed" something, my point was most of us noticed it long before now.

Regardless of when I noticed it, it is uncool. It is harming America and it should stop. Those bums who are trying to hurt America to get at President Obama should be thrown out of politics.

So. Only those ones, not the "bums" who did it with a previous administration?

I think all of the people that do it should get that wake up call, including those who did it in the "before" Obama time.

Im with you... anyone who does it should get thrown out of congress.
 
I don't think there is much precedent for the way the right is talking down the economy today, and fear-mongering about Obama's fiscal policy. All parties who are out of power do that to an extent, but they've taken it to a new level.

And, they have their own news network to help them spread the fear...

I agree, that is my perspective. Even if the Democrats did it, we were not in such an economic crisis as we are in now.
