I think the democratic party should move on from trump. any attention they give him obi-wan's him for his base. if we were to forget him and move on to biden's agenda and the future, placing him in the past, it would relegate him to the dust bin of history.

If we keep making him an issue with who is prosecuting him, or if he can stay at his florida golf course we give him legitimacy. Shouldn't we just "ghost him"?

This is my opinion I feel its a current event but if I am wrong in how I started this thread, I beg the staff's pardon.

Yes they should move on. The problem is that Trump and QRetards wouldn't shut up. They still present a danger to American's democracy.

The congressional investigations of the Trump insurrection should be done. This was a horrible attack on the country and its government. The perpetrators should not walk. Of course, if it comes out that Trump masterminded the whole thing, then he should be charged.

BTW there's nothing wrong with your thread. It IS a current event. It is constantly about DNC vs the GOP and the Trump Party.

It's been a nightmare.

I am fairly sure that the Regime would have preferred this thread be in the General Politics Forum.

I gotta ask this... why is it a problem when someone talks about Trump?

It has never been a problem when someone talks about Bush or Obama or others as far as I could recall.

Except for that guy who coined the term, BDS, or Bush Derangement Syndrome.

You did just fine.

We’ve always moved on from our crooked politicians and that is why we continue to have crooked politicians.

Ok, what would Trump have to gain from sending unarmed rioters into the Capitol?

As for democrats moving on from Trump—they are incapable of it.

I would LOVE to move on from Trump.

Unfortunately, and entire national party still sees him as their leader, and are mostly afraid to go against him in any way (though the 35 yesterday was a start).

The Democrats did move on!

That is why Biden is in the White House, and Donald Trump is in the Pink House or Mar-a-Douchenozzle- or whatever you call it!

Next!

I'm not a Democrat and can't speak for them. My problem with Trump is that he hijacked the Republican party and obliterated it into irrelevance. In a two-party system, we have to have a functional conservative party.

So my favored solutions are, in order, 1.) create a shit ton of new parties that have to create coalitions with each other to govern and then 2.) replace the Republican party with something that hasn't greedily swallowed Trump's McDonald's sharts for the past 5 years.

At the very least, chaos, if the invaders had managed to halt the confirmation process it would have put the country into a quagmire, uncharted territory, which surely Trump was ready to manipulate.

At the extreme, assault of members of Congress including possibly the VP, and then Trump would have control, keep in mind the rumor was Trump was ready to declare martial law and use the military to take control

And if Trump and the right would abandon the Big Lie it and Trump would quickly fade consequently as would everyone else

Trump is the archetypal 800# gorilla in the room lol. Fade, isn’t in his playbook.

Your theory is a stretch and relies on a caricature of Trump that doesn’t comport with reality. If Trump attempted something like he would certainly come out on the short end of it. It’s literally insane.

Who the hell knows why Trump does the moronic things he does? You think you can crawl inside his head and decipher his motives?

As for Democrats, you really hate them, don't you? Do you hate your Democratic friends and family members?

I am going to win the Godwin's award and go the Nazi route and call it.

There I said it. ;)
