The atmosphere was charged, to put it mildly, with thousands of protestors marching toward the Capitol and it never occurred to anyone that, just maybe, security should be strengthened.

See, this is the difference between me and the lefties. They are just outraged that it happened. So am I. But I’m also outraged that *it was allowed to happen* in the first place.

Democrats are politicizing it for the midterms. And why would they be interested in it? 1/6 was a political win for democrats: it gave them one last opportunity to impeach the Bad Orange Man and marginalize the MAGA movement.
