For one thing a delay is simply that—a delay, and not a coup or whatever.
And the point of the delay was to allow contested states to go over their irregularities—and then—have the vote. Right, wrong, stupid or whatever you want to call it, that is light years away from knocking off members of Congress, or whatever, so Trump could remain President. That, is lunacy.
The protestors were supposed to “March peacefully and patriotically” to the Capitol and *peaceably* demand that the vote be delayed for the above reasons. The rioters were out on their own they were NOT doing what Trump intended.
Which is exactly why it’s highly likely the commission isn’t going to be able to tie the rioters to Trump. And once again, the left will be disappointed.
Getting back to Trump asking his supporters to peacefully and patriotically March on the Capitol—who was asleep at the switch in terms of security? Granted, up until that time, Trump supporters weren’t known for violent and destructive behavior but the potential certainly existed for trouble yet they had minimal security. This all could have been prevented with adequate security.
Now, the idiots have the Capitol barricaded. Wtf, where was the security on 1/6 and why isn’t someone being held accountable for the lack of it?

Yes because his words objectively evidence his intent, and that intent was patently criminal. So trump will have to demonstrate that despite his criminal utterances, he meant some non criminal result. Sitting on his hands for a couple hours while the capitol was being ransacked in hopes pence would do his bidding won’t help his case.

The atmosphere was charged, to put it mildly, with thousands of protestors marching toward the Capitol and it never occurred to anyone that, just maybe, security should be strengthened.
