I want a stimulus check. How about you.

I saw on the news recently that another round of $1200.00 dollar stimulus checks isn't part of the new stimulus package negotiations. I think they should be. If you think so too, write your congressman. After all, if Trump could get it done, there's no reason why Biden and the democrats could get it done too. I know I sure as hell could use the money. Though if they were to do it, there should be an announcement that goes along with it. That the money is only to be used by and for the people who receive it. It isn't just to be handed over to whoever they may owe money to.

They had a thing on the news when the first round of stimulus checks went out. They showed a mother and daughter who handed over their stimulus checks to their landlord. Do you know what they were a few days later? HUNGRY!!! And that was probably FAR from an isolated incident. That's just not right. That just won't do! So please write your congressman and tell them that they should do at least just as well as Trump in that regard. And not letting people use the money for their personal needs just isn't right.

It was nice that we both got one, but we're retired and didn't need it. I donated mine to various local food pantries.

I would like to see a much larger one sent to those who have been on the unemployment rolls for at least three months, through no fault of their own. And to everyone who grossed less the the national median income last year. These are the ppl who will use it to buy presents and things that they need and stimulate the economy. Those who don't need it just bank it.

I could sure use it. I got caught up in hobbies again too much. It's the third time I've done this and it always happens in troubling times. I forgot about putting money aside to fence the yard for doggie.

I'm retired too, I didn't need the check, but it paid me back for that amount I paid in taxes?!!

My last one was handy. I bought a new pool pump and filter (cartridge replacing my DE one) with it. Another one? Maybe I'll get the hydraulic cylinder on my backhoe that's leaking by rebuilt. I need a check like that like a hole in the head. I have more in $100 bills in my desk right now than that.

I think it was quite nice of Thatowlwoman to donate hers to a food bank. I applaud your generosity.

The government needs to stop putting cash advances on the credit card.

Paying rent is not a "personal need??" What about the landlord?? Why should he go hungry and pile up debt just so his tenants can buy Christmas presents?? Is the county where this incident occurred going to let the landlord shirk his property taxes??

i am, in principle, opposed to The State providing for us and encouraging socialism. That doesn't mean I won't accept a stimulus check. I will, however, use it responsibly. I'll pay bills. Maybe I'll donate a small part of it to Wounded Warrior Project. But I will not tell my creditors to buzz off so I can buy a case of beer.

at present I calculate that the moratorium on court action has cost me around $75k since March........personally I say fuck your $1200......

Agreed there are those who are much more in need. The 14th Amendment equal protection clause raises several issues of a more selective distribution of Federal money.

Maybe using current unemployment laws would be better. Obama did that during the Great Recession.

There seems to be two different issues: Helping Americans in need and stimulating the economy.

The problem with President Obama's extension of unemployment benefits was that it encouraged people to stay home instead of find work. My wife worked at a temporary employment agency then. She cited numerous instances of people passing on offers of work because the jobs paid less than unemployment.

A better plan, IMHO, is to make unemployment benefits longer, but taper them off to zero. A some point, regardless of unemployment benefits, everyone will be encouraged to find work even if it's a former accountant or manager having to flip burgers or park cars.

Agreed. As noted earlier, there are Constitutional issues with selectively handing out Federal money to citizens. Still, there should be a better way to handle helping Americans without violating rights or just burning through taxpayer dollars. The Federal debt is shockingly too high as it is.

Most apartments are owed by large companies, such as the Trumps and Kushner, so I don't feel much sympathy for them. You can take your plutocracy and shove it up you bung-hole.

It's okay. It's a way of self-medicating. I sometimes do the same thing when feeling down, spend too much on "frivolous" stuff (like beads lol).

Isn't it fascinating that the (R)s don't want to provide anything to struggling individuals, yet are more than willing to bailout their already-rich buddies? I hope this time around they include penalties and fines for those who take the funds when they don't need them, like those grifter mega-churches did last time.

Prove it.

The government needs to be more selective when deciding who receives aid.

You used yours as was intended -- to boost the economy by buying stuff that maybe you didn't need but could use.

You don't actually think leftist cunts give a fuck about the landlord do you? They think the landlord is a rich slumlord keeping their tenants in poverty while they live on their yachts. These cunts haven't got the first fucking clue.

Why do republicans always fight the needed steps to end the economic crashes they cause?

why are you for sending as many jobs to china as possible?

why you for these unnecessary and economy-ruining lockdowns?

your piddly check idea is not enough, and not a long term solution, ya imbecile.
