He misrepresented his qualifications to have the job. It's like going to a doctor for an appendectomy but finding that he wasn't a surgeon. It would be illegal for the "surgeon" to be paid for performing an operation that he was not qualified to do. He said he attended MIT but MIT says he has never gone to MIT.

Everyone said he did great work - so your analogy is incomplete

so it is more like going in for emergency surgery, having your life saved, then trying to finding he had no valid license here and tried to use it as a reason to not pay a black person that you are bigoted against that did the job you needed done

The first statement is true. The second statement is false.

So let's look at the first statement:
He had a gun, that does not really matter. He had a gun that was illegal for some reason, not fully explained. Now that is a huge deal in Blue States, which is why Roberts moved to Iowa. In Iowa, he was allowed to "bring context" to the arrest in front of the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. They decided that an arrest for gun possession was not that bad in his case.

Do you think he would have gotten the same consideration in a Blue State? Doubtful.

It is one thing to perform a life saving EMERGENCY surgery and quite another to hold yourself out as a physician and bill for it. There wasn't an emergency when he was hired on there were other qualified applicants but his fraudulent resume looked more impressive on paper.
