IDF Destroys Syrian Air Force Fleet, All Navy Vessels

The Syrian air force was more of a farce with less than 50 usable aircraft over half of which were Czech L-39 light attack / trainers.

There was barely anything to wipe out, so it couldn't have been very difficult to accomplish.
It appears most of the Syrian Air Force had been destroyed during the civil war. The rebels captured some.

Most of it just rotted away because Syria was unable to maintain the planes, find pilots (rumors have it they hired Russians to fly them), or even find the munitions and fuel to put them up on a mission.

The Iraqis did give them some of what is almost certainly the shittiest ground attack plane of the post WW 2 era, the SU-22

It's sort of a swing-wing MiG 21 only much shittier and worthless. As a ground attack plane, it's nearly worthless. Can't carry any sort of PGM, and the loadout of weapons is typically shown above. Four pods of unguided 76mm rockets.

Has to be fake news. They were backed by Russia, a mighty super power n stuff who is going to start WW III, even though it has a domestic economy smaller than that of Texas, and kill us all if we don't kiss Putin's ass. Well, at least according to some Republicans, who have taken to worshipping Jane Fonda and 'peace at any cost!'.

As for how old all that stuff is, it was more than enough to deal with rebel forces, for the same reasons the Soviets in WW II could still use old WW I biplanes against the German army, which is why all that old surplus is still around, so yes, it was a good idea to trash it while there was no resistance.

This is 5 out 6 of the most important "ships" in the Syrian navy...

(hint: the 6th is the same thing)

Here's most of the rest of the Syrian navy rusting away at anchor

Oh, they do have a submarine or two-- but they've seen better days...

If your point is that there was not much of a Syrian Navy, or Air Force, I have to agree. It is better that the little remaining be destroyed before it can end up in the hands of even worse terrorists than Assad.
