Well....IF A GOD EXISTS...everything would be evidence that it exists...even if we are unable to show that it is. Diesel, IF A CREATOR GOD (OR GODS) EXIST...all of what exists is because of it whether we can show that to be the case or not. It's certainly possible that a god or gods might exist, but I think a belief in them is irrational because in the entire history of humanity, there has never been any evidence that any of them do exist. I suppose it's sort of like early theories about molecular structure. We couldn't see them until we could. Maybe the same is true of god. In the meantime, the entire concept of "god" is illogical to its core.
In Matthew 12:1-8, Jesus and His disciples were walking through grainfields on the Sabbath, and the disciples picked heads of grain to eat. The Pharisees accused them of breaking the Sabbath law, but Jesus defended their actions by referencing how David ate the consecrated bread when he was hungry, emphasizing that mercy is more important than sacrifice.I despise when laws have at their basis primarily a religious foundation. Obviously some laws have a religious foundation, but with a reasonable societal need. Murder and theft come immediately to mind. They do not bother me. If no gods found them objectionable, a reasonable society would have to control them.
Laws should be promulgated in furtherance of a benefit to society.
Laws like "Sundays (or Saturdays) are sacred and such and such cannot be done" are unreasonable.
Laws that limit marriage eligibility because of age considerations make sense...laws that limit marriage eligibility because of race or gender do not...no matter that they might offend some god or another. Laws that declare I must pledge my allegiance the flag of our nation "under god" is, in my opinion, bullshit...as is having "In god we trust" on our money.
Just sayin'.
The human population will always have a subset of the mentally ill and the sociopath outliers whose conscience does not tell them what they ought to do even if they choose to do the opposite. No, I do not agree at all.
I'm not interested in your attempt to turn morality into self-interest, reciprocity, and mutual advantage.
That's not morality.
Real, absolute, and objectively true morality
has nothing to do with self interest or the expectation that you will be paid back in kind
. Objective morality is selfless service and self-sacrifice without any expectation of reciprocity, of getting paid back, or of mutual advantage.
Believing in God, and adjusting your behavior, doesn't mean God exists.think of it this way,
the benefits of morality are continually self-evident.
not with that attitude.....Believing in God, and adjusting your behavior, doesn't mean God exists.
I can believe I'm going to marry Angelina Jolie and it can motivate me to work out and can motivate me to educate myself on raising children, because she has like 12 of them. I can't think to myself: "I can't imagine living in a world where I'm not going to marry Angelina and Julie."
Absolutely none of those thoughts or beliefs changes the fact that I am not going to marry Angelina Jolie.
A short little Youtube from a former evangelical pastor. Did the fire and brimstone shit for decades until he finally came to his senses. For those of you who are in denial or wish to remain willfully ignorant, he basically says this:
“Christians go in with their god as an assumption rather than a conclusion. When in fact, after close examination, the virgin birth falls apart, the resurrection falls apart, the basis of morality falls apart, the promise of afterlife fizzles into fear based marketing.”
“The gods of Islam, of Judaism, of Christianity only exist in scripture. If they actually existed, we wouldn’t need the books to claim they did. Once the book fails, the god goes with it.”
Saying all this, and adjusting your behavior doesn't mean that God doesn't exist.Believing in God, and adjusting your behavior, doesn't mean God exists.
Absolutely none of what you wrote changes the fact that you might have already married Angelina Jolie.Absolutely none of those thoughts or beliefs changes the fact that I am not going to marry Angelina Jolie.
It also doesn't mean there isn't a herd of unicorns living in my basement.Saying all this, and adjusting your behavior doesn't mean that God doesn't exist.

Think it out.Why?
Think it out.
By the way, I changed that to "creator GOD"...and IF there is a creator GOD...everything that exists IS evidence of that GOD.
Everything that exists is also evidence of naturally occurring existence IF no gods exist.
It certainly is evidence of something. We humans just do not know what.
Seems to me I have asked questions of you that you have not yet answered.
Any chance?
If everything is evidence for God then it kind of feels like nothing is.
How does one even test the claim that God exists if, ex cathedra, we are told everything is ipso facto evidence of God?
Kind of makes God into an unfalsfiable concept which is pretty much useless and easily dismissed.
It was a hypothetical. But since you are having so much trouble with it, I will further revise it.
IF a creator GOD exists...and IF that GOD created everything that exists...then it must follow that "everything" is evidence that the GOD exists. We just cannot use the evidence, because we do not know if the god exists and there appears to be no way to find out if it does.
Beats the shit out of me. Read my position...I mention that issue.
So dismiss it. I have. Just as I have dismissed the claim that no gods exist, because that also is unfalsifiable.
Now those are several responses to queries of yours. Why are you not answering or responding to queries I have made of you?
Actually, I asked something in my #83 that does require some sort of response...especially the part where I ask about a question I asked in my #5. And my question in my #275 should get a response.Well, we generally agree. God is a useless claim since it is unfalsifiable. There is nothing to answer.
Believing in God, and adjusting your behavior, doesn't mean God exists.

the golden rule still holds as a moral basis.A short little Youtube from a former evangelical pastor. Did the fire and brimstone shit for decades until he finally came to his senses. For those of you who are in denial or wish to remain willfully ignorant, he basically says this:
