if ron paul loses the primary should he run as an independent?

Much of his support Rob ? All 1,200 of them ?

And yet he managed to set records for a single day of fundraising? I am sorry, but this delusional bs just is not going to cut it anymore.

On the orginal q, I wish he would, but he says he will not and so I doubt it.

I don't think he will because I think he believes that it will hurt a repub worse than a dem. And Repubs are more likely to agree with his totalitarian biological imperitive. So he won't run as an independent. But if he did I would vote for him even though he and I disagree on Abortion and marriage.

You should have titled this, "WHEN Ron Paul loses the primary should he run as an independant."

My question would then be, on what ticket?

There are a lot of libertarians that would not welcome Paul at the front of their ticket.

He said independent not libertarian. He wouldn't have to run for a party.

If he runs as an Independant he would not be on any ticket.

Kudos to Paul and the Ronbots for their record-breaking success .. even though it fell far short of the 10 million/100,000 donor day that was hoped for. It was a marvelous political stunt that is sure to awaken the republican machine.

But he's still behind Huckabee who has a lot less money.

It will be interesting to see where the money came from and from who.

But again, congrats to the Ronbots on this wonderful stunt.

Damo and Blackflag, you are both of course correct.

Paul running as an independant would make the political season fun and the debates interesting .. if he could get into them. Both major parties would try to keep him out. Both Nader and Buchanan had trouble getting into the debates, and this is an issue where I'd have to hold my nose and support Paul's right to be included.

Given that he poses no real threat, I guess I could live with that.

Paul would win LP nom easily. I expect he will get a large number of votes whether he runs or not.

Huh? The only stated goal for the campaign is 12 for the quarter. He will make that easily.

Virtually all of it came through the website and indivdiual donors.

Free Market News is Ron Paul Friendly

There are lots of other Paul sites you can see what the goal of 11/5 was.

But that does not diminish what was accomplished.

Virtually all of it came through the website and indivdiual donors.

I agree .. but did it 82% of it come from men as did in the last quarter?

I suspect not and Ronbots were savvy enough to ensure there were women named as donors.

That's debatable

The libertarian convention is in May and there are candidates already running.

Although as stated by others, he may not need the LP.

"Running" for LP nomination is virtually all done at the convention. Some candidates will make a trip to the state conventions, but it really has little impact.

The biggest LP candidate I am aware of, Steve Kubby, endorsed Paul. He'd win it easily and no it's not really debatable.

Recent polling shows Paul garnering the support of about 70% of LP members -- and the LP's front-runners, including Kubby, clustered together in the 2-3% range among those same members. That polling, Paul's much higher media profile, and fundraising reports showing that Paul has raised nearly 100 times as much money as any of his Libertarian competitors, convinced Kubby that this is just such a situation.

It sounds like your making fun of them because they are white men mostly supporting Paul.
Do you find it funny that most supporters of say Al Sharpton might end up being black males?

Honestly, you love to prance around pretending America is racist, but so far as I can tell with your blank panther avatar to your digs at whites that you are the one with the racist chip on your shoulder.

That's interesting, although I don't think it changes the dynamics any.
