If the Schumer shutdown causes SNAP to go unfunded, do you approve of shoplifting or robbery to obtain food?

No! Steal and go to prison. End of story.
There are food banks, and charity. There is stored food, and conservation. There is all sorts of options that are NOT breaking the Law.
$4 for 12 Ramen, or $0.33 each. Yes, I have lived on two ramen a day for four years. $20 a month to stay alive. I supplemented the Ramen by hunting rattle snakes and rabbits on the mesa. I've been poor, and because I was a White-Male, I did not "Qualify" for any Govt. Program.
A good day, was when I threw stones and bagged a couple of quail. Or a friend gave me a bag of potatoes.
Live with it SNAP people. Go to the Food Bank, go to the Church.
In time, you will find it makes you stronger, thinner, and gives you pride.

I was working full time during those four years. Earned, with OT, about 55K a year. And I had to pay off my own divorce lawyer ($24K), and my wife's divorce lawyer($28K), and pay $780/month child support, even though my wife earned twice what I did, and I had my two kids at my home 6 days out of 14...
I lived for four years on $836 a month.
I was designing, building and testing vital munitions, jammers, and radar for the gulf war. Damn Dangerous work.
There was an episode, were I was riding my bike to work, about 12 miles away, across the mesa in part, and in the early morning cold, I ran over a Rattle Snake. I thought it was dead. So I threw it in my lunch cooler, with my PBJ sandwiches, apple and Ramen, and put it in the Lunchroom Fridge at work. Well, the snake revived. Claire, the office secretary, knocked my cooler over, when it rattled, getting hers, and let the snake out. I had to re-capture it with a high voltage probe stick, and kill it with my folding buck knife. I almost got fired.
After that, the boss contacted the Judge, and told her that I was essential personnel, needed for the war, and was eating road kill. They reviewed and lowered my child support by $120, so I could eat.
Life is strange.

I was recently listening to an Estonian talking about what it was like as a kid in Estonia after the collapse of the Soviet Union, about the lack of food.
Ya....Americans mostly have no idea what that is like.
