If the swine flue vaccine becomes mandatory, what will you do?

What will you do if the government tries to force you to take the swine flu vaccine?

Independent Thinker
My initial thought would be to kill the person attempting to inject the live, man-made virus into my veins. If that isn't an option, however, I'll resist until they are forced to kill me, because there is no way in hell I'll take that goddamn vaccine.

Live man-made virus? Wow, you went whole hog into conspiracy land.

I'd refuse the vaccine myself. I'd make up religious reasons if I had to.

Well, time will tell who is right. I hope to God that I am wrong.

I don't think they give a fuck about religious reasons. We're talking about an ideaology which, at its core, advocates the massacre of 5.5 billion people.

Massachusetts was considering measure to make the vaccine mandatory in case of emergency. However, being that this flu does not seem to be particularly deadly that doesn't seem to be necessary. The punishment in such cases probably would have been a fine. Logically they aren't going to bring a doctor into your house, hold you down, and try to inject it.

1. The flu vaccine is not a live-virus vaccine (at least the injected version)
2. A live-virus vaccine, like the snorted version, is not the same thing as injecting you with the virus, it's weakened and altered and so can't cause the disease itself
3. A dead-virus vaccine (injected version, again) obviously can't cause the disease
4. Swine flu isn't man made, that's a baseless conspiracy theory. That which may be asserted without evidence, may be dismissed without evidence.

The origin of this conspiracy theory seems to be the Georgia guidestones, which advocated peaceful coexistence with nature and a human population of around 500 million. But no liberal takes such fanciful figures seriously, and I personally think the whole overpopulation thing is blown out of proportion anyway. I think nature can support a human population several times the current size, but we do need to spread birth control and such to decrease population growth voluntarily. Europe already has a steady population, I don't see why the rest of the world can't do it.

Who's trying to make it mandatory?

Fear of the flu and probably of the vaccine are both overblown. I'd rather take my chances with the flu than a vaccine I worry, may have been rushed.

I know two people who survived the flu. I don't know anyone that died from it. Though, has anyone died from the vaccine or even gotten ill (don't give me any of that autism shit)?

Even if the vaccine had side effects as bad as the disaster in the 70's, it wouldn't cause as many deaths as the Swine Flu. This Swine Flu is a real disease that's out there, it's not like the phantom from the 70's, and it's going to kill thousands, possibly tens of thousands, in the United States.

Horse shit. The swine flu is a joke.

A joke that will kill thousands? It's already killed 920 in North America, so my prediction has almost born itself out already. It's not a very daring or out there prediction, honestly.

The possible dead? Yeah I'll agree with that, but it's less deadly than the normal flu. This year we expect to lose over 2,000 to suffocation, that hardly makes it a deadly threat to everyday life. I stand by my previous statement, the swine flu is a fucking joke. It couldn't even stop me from acting like an irresponsible jackass for a week.

As does the regular flu... about 30k per year... most due to other health issues, but occasionally the healthy individual too. The swine flu is weaker than regular flu, so statistically the number should be lower.

Which wouldn't matter, they don't own the SCOTUS and that is who would finally decide.

This flu is more deadly to people in their prime that the normal flu, so different groups have to be worried about getting the shots, like young people, and especially pregnant women.

The death rate you get from taking the amount of deaths from the Swine Flu and dividing it by the amount of cases is about 0.02% - which is less than the standard rate of 0.1%. My method may not be statistically valid, though.

please show me the stats that back up that assertion as I have not seen anything on that. Thanks.

The regular flu is going to kill tens of thousands.

Both of the guys I know are in their prime years. Yes, it is anecdotal. But I have yet to see any stats that warrant the fear mongering by the press, which is horrible at science reporting.

Frist??? Sorry, he does not have much credibility with me. I guess you are talking about his Maher appearance. He is right that the fear of all vaccines is stupid. I have, taken the regular flu vaccine.

My concern is this one may have been rushed to market and not properly tested based on hysteria. I will take my chances with the evil I know.

The Air Force will undoubtedly order me to get vaccinated, but its the military, so I have come to expect that. Already this year, they had me take my annual flu shot earlier than normal.
