Our amnesty laws are not evil or particularly generous. An applicant has to fill out the paperwork with the USCIS. A background check has to show a clean criminal record. The immigration service will help with filling out the paperwork. In some cases provide legal assistance. It ends up in immigration court in front of a judge. Right now, with so many asking, the process has broken down. We talk about adding immigration courts and more legal assistance.
