If You Force Opening, And Get Deaths, That's On You.

Do you really want people to die?

Most people don't want to cause deaths.

Well, if you force openings before it is really safe, and the death tolls rise, that's something you are going to have to live with.

I hope of the deaths caused it won't be somebody you know.

Those who favor safety over economy will definitely hold you and your politicians accountable for that, and will vote accordingly.

Just so ya know...

fearmongering dipshittery, just so you know.

Why are we allowing anyone to leave their homes period? Clearly you are ok with people dying if that's acceptable to you. Yes people need food but that puts them and the workers at risk. So what is more important?

Vote accordingly.

There's a very easy answer to this question...no one should be leaving their homes at all, and those that must -because they are essential workers- should be tested first.

And we should guarantee everyone's wages so no one has to fret over missing a mortgage payment, loan payment, bills, etc.

Instead, we guaranteed shareholder profits and the result is 35M unemployed and no health care, and a massive transfer of wealth to the top.

Do you really think opening up the economy and having people return to shows, bars, movies, and barbershops is a good idea? People have been going to markets for food, masked, and gloved. Opening up the economy is not the same thing. People are in their homes to avoid corona. You guys are rash and stupid. The Wisconsin courts made a petri dish for you to watch from a distance.
We still have no vaccine. It will spread. We have no antibodies.

Straw man. Please point out where I said nobody could leave homes, period? Didn't say it. That's the straw man you made up.

But no big surprise, I mean really, if you have no better argument, what else can ya say?

No one, to my knowledge, is suggesting we open up bars and movie theaters. There are plenty of people, regardless of political persuasion, that believe restrictions need to be eased. But at least be honest, since you fancy yourself not rash nor stupid. PoliTalker is honest in that he's rooting for a recession and the stock market to drop based on the 2020 election. So he wants to continue whatever policies best pursue that goal. The fact that you think the entire country needs to be on total lock down says all we need to know.

Yes, it says it is a national problem. We have a fluid society that mixes and merges from city to state. That is why a couple of cases landing here in Dec. ended up with millions getting it. If you think Wisconsin opening up Corona will stay in Wisconsin, you are deluding yourself.

I felt so bad for WI governor. I hope they remember who wanted this and ruled in favor of it. There is nothing he can do.

I'd have far more respect if you were honest like PoliTalker and just acknowledge this is all political and about the next election. Otherwise you are full of sh*t if you think we need a national stay at home lock down for everything until there is a vaccine.

The economy is not bouncing right back. You can open up all the restaurants and businesses that put people in close social contact that you want. You cannot force customers to go to restaurants if they do not feel safe. And as you say, bars and theaters are not opening back up any time soon. Neither are sports venues, concerts, arts and crafts shows, cruise ships, theme parks, etc, any function that gathers large numbers of people. Airlines and airports cannot expect anywhere close to full volume. People aren't even going to doctors or dentists, and who can blame them? It is quite enough risk just to go to the grocery store for food. Even though MOST people are observing safe distancing and wearing masks there's always that reckless few who are just blowing it off, endangering themselves and others.

There's a lot of people out of work. Many have lost incomes and are not getting any assistance. Rent and Mortgage payments are being missed. Car payments, Credit card payments. That is going to lower the value of some stocks. There will be repossessions and foreclosures. That's coming. It will ripple through the economy.

There is no way to force the economy to bounce right back, no matter how many insults, how much bluster from the stable genius. It is terrible that this has happened, but if it gets rid of the stable genius that's one bright spot in the dark cloud of coronavirus.

Congrats on getting your wish. You wished for a recession and stock market crash and you got it. It's why you frame everything here in terms of Trump. Just spare us the faux concern about deaths.

Hello cawacko,

I'd have far more respect if you were honest like PoliTalker and just acknowledge this is all political and about the next election.

I said no such thing.

This is a crisis not of our making, but our poor response made it far worse than it had to be. We were very late to take effective measures, so it hit us hard. The blame goes to the president for denials, lies, and mismanagement of the crisis. Wasting valuable life-saving time. It didn't have to be this bad. America is number one in deaths because of the selfishness of the 'stable genius.'

The only way it relates to the November 3rd election is because that is our chance to pass judgement on the president, our chance to replace him with more sane leadership from someone who will serve the nation instead of himself.

The election is boiling down to a referendum on Trump. The more deaths he causes, the less support he will have. Few actually like him, even if they have supported him in the past. Needlessly high death tolls will make it hard for those who don't like him to say they like what he is doing.

A truly political anti-DT position would be pushing to open up instantly, fully expecting to increase deaths and thus dissent for DT. But that would be irresponsible, so that is not my position.

It is ironic that the armed protestors are pushing for the one thing which will hurt his reelection chances. Early reopening and a deadly second wave will turn voters away from him.

They think the economy will bounce right back but that is just not in the cards.

Unemployment will stay high even after reopening. 32% of those out of work say they do not expect to be rehired by their old employer.

how many of you that work in factories are typically within six feet of another worker.......

Apparently meat packers tend to be crowded in there, but I have never been a meat packer.

Not factory workers, but trading desks turn out to also be packed in there. A trading desk might cost half a million or more a year, so keeping half of them empty is very expensive.

The Chinese have figured out how to space workers out, so I am sure we will be able to figure it out too. It is just taking everyone time to work it out.

There is a balancing act. There are some things that are essential, that if we do not do, there will be more deaths. And there are other things that are just spreading disease for no good reason. Even the best leaders would get the mix wrong, but hopefully we could all work on it.

When I come on here, I lose hope. I see Alt Righters screaming that it is "essential" that they go out for cocktails, and that they will kill someone if they do not get what they want. They feel they will never get sick, and really don't care if they kill others.

You may think the cocktails part is just me exaggerating, no that is what the Alt Right is really demanding as essential:

If our Dads and uncles can face bullets Im pretty sure we can face the prospect of going out for a steak and a few cocktails!
