What becomes of these children after the government deports or have deported their parents? Do they now become wards of the federal government? Do they now have to care for these children, find them foster care and then what? This seems like a bigger cost then just allowing them to remain with their parent(s) and deporting them together.

This worked so well for the power structure as a distraction before (the election, we must always be in fear of some horde you see), they'll milk it for all it's worth. Besides, private corporate prisons are nicely available. The corporate state media machine runs endless breathless anxious stories and pissing matches to capture the public's attention and sadly too many of us pay attention to the illusions rather than what's behind the noise. Not to say that we haven't done some honest things as well. Shout out to Nicky Haley for ducking the US out of the UN Human Rights Council. We got not right to be there at all.
