Sorry for your loss. Drug use has been on the rise in rural areas for years. Not much to do there if you dont farm.
It used to be most of the farm towns in my region had factories that supported the communities but many of those have been shipped over seas. Those that are left are mostly non-union and pay shit wages. So lack of economic opportunity does play a role I'm sure.
 
Bad Karma. Back in the old days here, addicts could get their stuff on the NHS and get on with their lives - but then the capitalist press started ranting, and now the small town I live in is rotten with illegal drugs and all that involves. Treat people as people, let them choose, and establish a free press, then these horrors won't happen.
