Immigration Crackdown Worries Employers

Sorry, too late for that.

I agree with that, but to do so, they will have to rely on the same people they depend on now. the difference is they should be made "work legal" then paid appropriately.

It's not 'too late for that', stooge. You want to rely on price fixing to solve the problem? Can you say 'stupid'?

Good idea, LadyT. Get rid of farm subsidies and allow guest workers. It's what I've been saying the whole time.

When the hell did I say anything about guest workers. I'm in favor of kicking everyone who's came here illegally out, send them to the back of the line and getting rid of most the ridiculous requirements we have in place to allow residency ideally cutting the time to for legal status to 1/4 of what it is now.

It would seem you are the "STOOGE". what does price-fixing have to do with this issue? I don't really know what meaning you gleaned out of my statement but I was saying it is to late to send them all back or just fire them.

It's not too late to send them back. Have you heard of the concept of deportation?

"paid apporopriately" price fixing, minimum wage etc. A more reliable system would keeping the labor pool smaller.

LOL

Well, let me repeat, you said:

If they want to hang on to their illegals, they can forego all of the farm subsidies we provide.

And I agree.

Have YOU hesrd of the concept of "TOO MANY"???

There aren't too many. That's a bullshit excuse people with no will to fix the problem give. And they will go home if people stop hiring them. We won't have to "round them up".

And I agree.

Oh I thought you were implying that I supported Bush's guest worker plan.

Thank you peanut gallery. It wasn't clear enough until you so thoughtfully repeated and validated the point.

What would we do without you?
I don't know, but I don't think you have the oportunity to find out, either. You did seem to be dsputing his word.

Not that its even worth it with you, but he mentioned the statement you quoted above and then said, "And" then proceeded to state something else that I didn't say without making note that I didn't agree wtih the guest worker program. It wasn't that big of a deal peanut gallery.

So? I didn't think so either until you made an issue of my comment.

Yes, I forgot the quotation marks. I thought the large amount of space between would set everyone off that the "And I agree" remark wasn't LadyT's. I'll make sure to sue BB code in the future. My writing style is often a bit jumbly and confuses people.

LadyT, really, Doniston is old... and he tends to make mistakes like this... I wouldn't dwell on it.

n Oh? it was a mistake to agree with you? that's twice. I will try not to make a habit of it. however, it was not a mistake, and I was not referring to your comment that you agreed. It was the body of the message. Really Sonny, have you developed a crush on the "T"??

we dont have an illegal immigration problem, we have an illegal hiring problem. when illegals come here and cant get work they'll go home and fix their own damn country.

as far as big agriculture goes, its about time they quit relying on slave labor. yea, its gonna hurt their porfits and we will end up paying a few cents more for their produce but the overall benefits to society and our economy will offset this many times over.

(i feel the corporatist on this site coming at me on this one, like zombies)

I agree Crash, go after the employers.
lets pay what our food is worth.

or does everyone like the contaminated Chinese food ?

No... really, this is going to kill about half of the US farming industry.

The only people that are going to survive are huge midwestern agri-corps.
