If lefties get their way, there will be open borders and free (paid for by the somebody else) health care. This seems like it would be an open invitation to the rest of the world, particularly shithole countries, to come here and take advantage of such an arrangement. The productive class of USA can barely afford to support the unproductive of just our own country, so I cringe when I imagine having to support all the shithole country healthcare costs as well. Free healthcare AND open borders sound like a disastrous combination.

Are you aware of any nonshithole countries who have universal health care and no borders? "roads" We pay fuel taxes, for one.
"policemen" Pay for those through our county taxes.
"firefighters" Nope. Our fire departments here are voluntary, but our state taxes pay for them in our larger cities.
"water/food safety inspectors" Yep. Through state and federal taxes, as well as retail prices.
"military personnel and equipment" Sure do. Glad to support a well trained and well equipped military through our federal income taxes.

I'm not real sure how someone paying taxes that funds those things, several of which are on a State/local level, is getting them for free.
