Impeach Cheney

If Cheney wants to say he is part of Congress instead of the Executive Branch then I am sure ALL of the Senate would enjoy him SHARING all of this confidential material with them, which would be required by Law also. :D

He is actually forbidden to take part in debate as President of the Senate. So, he would be unable to formally inform the Senate of any of that. His only role is to run the meeting and break tie votes.

We're through the looking glass now! Up is down! Bush is claiming the he too, is NOT part of the Executive Branch!

Bush claims he’s not part of the executive branch.

The White House said Friday that, like Vice President Dick Cheney’s office, President Bush’s office is not allowing an independent federal watchdog to oversee its handling of classified national security information.

An executive order that Bush issued in March 2003 — amending an existing order — requires all government agencies that are part of the executive branch to submit to oversight. Although it doesn’t specifically say so, Bush’s order was not meant to apply to the vice president’s office or the president’s office, a White House spokesman said.

What I keep going back to with all of this is; and they are planning to hand these powers over to a Democratic President, are they?

Nah.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 13292

Section 6.1(b): "Agency" means any "Executive agency," as defined in 5 U.S.C. 105; any "Military department" as defined in 5 U.S.C. 102; and any other entity within the executive branch that comes into the possession of classified information.

That doesn't change that he is more likely to argue that than an absense of Executive power.

He'll just rewrite his order to exclude those offices.

I just foud out that he is equating himself as the president of the Senate, and thus is a member of congress.

and guess what---- The whitehouse agrees. I knew there was bad blood brewing between Bush and Chenney for the past few months, but ---???????

Well I guess we can just drop the funding for the VP's office from the Budget then....It will fall under the senate budget.

I don't beleive he even runs the meetings, the President Protemp does that.

You are right. Duh. How could I forget that little detail. He quite literally can only vote to break a tie and that is it.

There are certain other circumstances where he takes precedence. When they are counting electoral votes, for instance.
