No Democrat believes that. The opposite.
They let that boat sail in the 1960's. They would indeed have to trash the entire criminal syndicate and start another Party entirely. They would then lose their biggest money people, mostly billionaires and multi-national corporations, who can easily fund a counter-Party with their pocket lint. Several Democratic Party governors, especially (in my opinion) Newsom of California and Shapiro of Pennsylvania. I would include Whitmer of Michigan and Pritzker of Illinois (that last one because of the help of Trump.) Pete Buttigieg. And many others.
