Iran

Yeah, and China may take some action as well. They don't want their oil interrupted.

I think USCit is likely right and in future history books these wars will be called the "Oil Wars".

They are already known as the Oil Wars throughout most of the world .. free from American MSM.

I haven't read that monicker on any media, including al jazeera and bbc as well as other outlets I have read.

Yeah I was saying it was all about oil even before we invaded Iraq.
And the flack I got from all but a few on the left...

I cannot directly recall that you did give me flack over that, but I think you did offhandedly support the others on the right. As you still tend to do.
But I will give you the benefit of the doubt as you are not a typical Republican.
Well over 90% of those on the right did ridicule me over my oil wars statements though.

I would have said something like, "I think oil has something to do with it, because I think it was more because of their threats to change currency to the Euro for oil exchange and to dump their dollars on the market. Although I do not think this is the only reason."

At that time, and still now, I believed that the main goal was to surround Iran with democracies in order to pressure their populace to take over from the current regime.

I was also against entering because it was not formally declared, I believed it would turn into a war in the press, like all Class Four warfare inevitably does.

I'm tired of blaming the media.

The people are fools. And they like war, as long as we're "winning".

I don't disagree about the media, but...it doesn't cut it as an excuse anymore. It's the people.
It's both. The media's failures exacerbate the problem but the problem already exists. We have seen the enemy and he is us.

Like begets like. Its a cyclical thing. I thing the media are culpable to a large extent. I think they have a conflict of interest in being objective. Its not like they used to be. Now, they truly are a tool of influence from the government, and people are eating it up.

I understand your point. And I sympathise. But I;m going with the given that people, especially Americans are for the most part ignorant. And the media is doing their best to keep them that way, thus perpetuationg this ugly state of affairs and the embarrasingly bad place in the world theatre this country has become.
