IRS Hiring Gun-Carrying Agents in all 50 States

Some do, and others do not. Why do you want to undo that? Doesn't it make sense to have criminal investigation agents in all 50 states?

Yeah, they can send armed agents to all 50 states but they can’t even provide a user friendly way to talk to anyone at the IRS about the simplest of issues.

I have always had pleasant conversations with the IRS. They sometimes keep you on hold for a while, but other than that they are very happy to talk to you. They hate having to track people down.

No, but I am saying that trained federal law enforcement should be allowed to carry guns if ordered to by the federal government. Why is that a problem?

Why does the IRS need federal law enforcement to do an audit?

If they need to make an arrest they can be assisted by the FBI

I work with a number of three letter agencies and frequently observe their shooting skills. The only one I am in awe of are the federal air marshals.

The IRS got Al Capone. Federal Air Marshals got... Hmmm... Uhmmm... Can anyone remember a success of the Federal Air Marshals? Even one?

They make 4.2 arrests a year, for an average cost of $200 million per arrest. The vast majority of the arrests are for drunk and disorderly offenses. Basically people shouting loudly. So we are spending more than the cost of a new plane to arrest someone who is shouting loudly. We could save money by just leaving him on the plane, and buying a new plane for the trip. Sooner or later, the drunkard would leave the plane of his own accord.

I am only half joking.

Why should teachers that are trained by federal law enforcement not be allowed to carry guns?

Law enforcement in schools are already allowed to carry guns. In fact, they are often required to carry guns. Law enforcement in the IRS have the same rights.
