Is Bain their Ace?

Mostly because they either got jobs or changed their business model to fit in with the new reality.

The idea that buggy-whip makers need to continue in the name of "the economy" is such a naive view of the world that it seems more like something Ayn Rand would write about the "looters" than something somebody should be using in an argument here...

If we were to make this "the argument", if it made any sense at all, they'd start talking about people who may lose their jobs if "The Green Economy" ever happened along as if it were part of a zero sum game. Oh noooees... gas delivery guys might lose their job...

It's an ignorant argument based on bad assumptions.

It's funny but I would have had you down as a small business lover rather than a defender of massive conglomerates sucking the very essence out of communities worldwide. I often wonder how far this can go? Will we just end up with half a dozen corporations just controlling everything. I am sure you will be very happy with Amazon plans to provide same day delivery, that should kill off what's left of the High Street. What does your guru Ayn Rand have to say about that?

I wouldn't expect any comprehensible reply to that.

It's not buggy whips, it is mom and pops. What is your justification for destroying the hopes and dreams of thousands of mom and pops, so Mitt can make millions?

I have a lot of difficulty understanding how a devotee of Buddhism can be so in thrall to vulture capitalism and blood sucking casino bankers. The two go hand in hand, where else do the likes of Bain get their finance.

Some livelihoods are expendable (Moms and Pops) and some aren't (DoD contractors who still get awards after defrauding the govt.)

It's tough to understand and you're exactly spot on.

Many claim that DoD contractors are indispensable to the safety and security of the United States of America. Moms and Pops can easily find other work in the garment industry. Oh, wait. All that disappeared from our shores long ago.

Let's understand something, the days of the "Mom and Pops" are pretty much gone. Unless you mean, the Mom and/or Pop, who worked for years at a good paying job and saved up their money to start their own business. Without large companies being built, opening and making shit, we have no real jobs. You are literally biting the hand that feeds you, with this mindless crap. It takes the Mitt's making millions, for us to have the jobs and incomes we need, in order to feed our families, pay our bills, send our kids to college, and hopefully save enough to one day open our own Mom and Pop.

Unbelieveably stupid.

:rofl2:

So you are saying small businesses and start up jobs are an unimportant part of our economy?

...vulture capitalism and blood sucking casino bankers.

Yes, capitalism is EVIL ...Bankers are DRACULA!

Capitalists exist in a free market society to make money. The more they make, the better the economy is... it's about that fucking simple. Bankers are in business to make money, they too, are capitalists. The more money they make, the better the economy is... it's REALLY about that simple.

Now, do we need to keep an eye on corruption and illegality, and unfair trade practice? OF COURSE, and we DO! We routinely send executives off in shackles to do hard time in prison, whenever we find them guilty in a courtroom. There is not much more a civilized society can be expected to do about this. But that doesn't mean that ALL capitalists are vultures, or that ANY are, who are operating within the law. Same with bankers. These are the people who DRIVE THE ECONOMY you moron! And because you are too fucking stupid to realize this, you can't figure out what the hell is the matter? Why aren't investors investing? Why isn't the economy growing? Why aren't jobs being created? It's because capitalists are not going to invest in a market controlled by people like you.

Not at all. They provide the bulk of our jobs. But where do those people come from? I would venture to say, the majority are retired from some other line of work, where they saved and scraped and realized their dream of owning their own business. They didn't just open their Obama check one day, and decide to run open a business... that's not what went down.

The defense rests.

Crooked executives are rarely prosecuted or even handcuffed much less led off in shackles. And they NEVER do any hard time by any classic definition of it.

Idiot.

You are seriously deluded, can you tell me just how many Goldman Sachs, Lehman Bros, AIG, JP Morgan and Bear Stearns directors have been banged up?
