Then I can only speak for this personality. I didn't have my watch when I came online. I don't know when I changed.

You're going to have to ask the other personalities individually.
That can happen with split-personality cases. Some personalities are aware of "the others" and some just have blackouts. Do you have blackouts? Do you wake up "tired" as if you've been up half the night but you don't remember doing so?

Most prosecutors oppose the death penalty (for child molestation). If a person gets the death penalty for committing the crime, they are more likely to kill the victim. They can't get any additional punishment and they have eliminated the only witness.

And, it is probably unconstitutional.

Im wondering if insane criminals are exersizing that sort of critical thinking.

Most child molesters are not insane. But, if they are sane enough to take the kid to some place private they can consider getting rid of the witness.

You are right about criminals not giving too much thought to consequences. When we speed we probably don't make the conscious choice that we don't mind paying a $200 ticket but that we don't really think about getting caught.

Smart people can be insane. Look at the Teds: Kaczynski and Bundy

Any compulsion that is self-destructive is a mental deficiency. The problem is how to handle it. If a person can be treated, such as castration, so that they can be released. Good. If they continue to be a danger to society, then citizens will group together to protect society. This may include removing the person completely from being a danger regardless of their mental capacity.

I only said most child molesters are not insane, but many probably are. Having a mental deficiency is not necessarily insanity.

In your opinion, what is the difference between mental deficiency, mental illness and insanity? Are you talking legal terms? I'm referencing mental limitations or malfunctions that render a person unable to reason on certain issues. Forms of insanity are a matter of types and degrees.

A child molester, like a rapist, is usually motivated by power with sex being secondary. They are obviously not thinking of the welfare of the child or anyone else. That's a detrimental limitation. If caught, their life will be ruined and they will go to prison. Obviously a very serious detrimental limitation. Logic says "don't do it" but they do it anyway. Why? Because they can't help themselves. Like a rabid dog or an insane person, they can't help themselves. Obviously this goes in degrees since some can control their impulses and restrict themselves to child porn even though it, too, is illegal and, therefore, self-destructive. Others cannot and actively engage in rape.

Either way, any impulse that cannot be stopped is a mental deficiency and should be treated. In this case, chemical assistance or castration can help them live a more normal life in freedom.

I generally agree with your post although I am not convinced chemical castration is a solution; but, I have not studied the issue.
