I was one of those morons. I honestly believed that the Russians had a serious military that had not been totally eroded by corruption, and that Ukraine had a major corruption problem.

The difference is that I had the common sense to reevaluate my beliefs with new information.
 
All the isolationists have ever achieved in our history has been giant wars when they could have been tiny ones by nipping the vermin in the bud early on. Even Mr. Neutrality himself, Jefferson, had to face up to the fact that the world will not leave us alone. Better to settle the things overseas than on our own soil.
