Its a big deal, if we can do an amnesty deal for those who are good people that we want in, it would be easier on deporting those we do now want.

So, no amnesty then.

When Reagan did amnesty, folks who were here illegally from 1982 or earlier first got temporary residence then after 1.5 years simply obtained green cards. That is not remotely what they are talking about here.

So, when are the green cards issued? My bet is that he has never suggested the same thing as what Reagan did, and it isn't amnesty to simply allow folks a permit to harvest and go home.
