Is it true that Bush's IQ is 91?

I heard someone on the radio say that Clinton's IQ is 182, Jimmy Carter's is 175, and George W. Bush's is 91.

Sounds like B.S. to me. Are president's IQ's even generally known and available to the public?

No, I think this was a hoax. I'm sure that it was debunked and that it ended up that their IQ's were not known.

Could be that they were being generous to GWB :D

Yeah, with his wet-brain, I'd give him about a 70 at this point, which just about would certify him as an official moron.

But I also don't buy that Clinton's or Carter's were that high. That would be very rare, I don't believe it. I don't believe a guy with an IQ that high could be President because very few people would understand them.

No not this again. This rumor never seems to die. Yeah its BS. The only President who's IQ is known is Jimmy Carter at 176 which is extremely high. I don't believe Bush's IQ is 91. It may be 110 or something like that.

Basically IQ is what is called a normal distribution. It has a standard deviation of 15. Thus A person with and 85 IQ is less intelligent than 85% of the population. I person with 115 is smarter than 85% of the population. A person with 160 is smarter than 99.997 of the pop. This shows how gifted Carter is intellectually.

Bush is probably smarter than 65% of the pop which is rather unimpressive for a President. I would venture to say that many of the posters I have interacted with on these sites far exceed his intelligence. That said I don't think his IQ is 91. That would mean that most people were smarter than him. This is easy to say in our own personal interactions since we associate with like minded people. However, there are a lot of really dumb people out there.

Yeah the 182 and 175 are unusually high.
I would suspect that those 2 had IQ's more like 130-140.

If 100 is average they would've been in like the top 99 percentile. I agree with you. But IQ isn't a measurement of everything. Einstein probably didn't have the highest IQ ever, but he did much more than people with higher IQ's than him. But I wouldn't completely discount IQ either; I wouldn't doubt at all that Clinton has a higher IQ that Bush.

Really, are you sure about Carter's? That's very surprising to me. I've only ever known two people with IQ's that put them in the 1 percentile, and to be honest, both of them were understood by very few people. One of them by almost no one.

No, I don't doubt that Clinton's is higher than Bush's either. But I think usc has it about right, Clinton is about 130-140.

Yay! I have an IQ of 145, which must mean I smarter than like 95% of you! Carter must be like ridiculously smart, though.

Those IQ numbers were calculated by a company, I forget which it was now, based on a number of indicators including papers published, etc. They reported that it was nearly impossible to calculate the score for Bush II because he'd never written anything that was published, and this factor apparently was one of the critical elements in the equation. The company itself stated that these numbers were iffy at best, just an exercise in comparison based on what factors they thought might be predictive or relevant.

Carter's IQ, based on whatever criteria they used, was calculated at 182 or 184; his was the only actual score to have been reported, and this was, as noted above, around 176.

I don't think that standardized IQ tests were developed, or certainly not widely available, at the time that Einstein lived. They measure simply certain aspects of potential for academic achievement, but do not measure such characteristics as creativity.

Real IQ estimates
In 2006, a real historiometric study published in the scientific journal Political Psychology, compared the estimated IQs of all US presidents since 1900. It rated G.W. Bush second last, with an estimated IQ between 111.1 and 138.5, and an average of 124.8 (which still is well above the standardised average of 100). According to the same study, the average estimated IQ of president Bill Clinton was estimated to be 149. [9] In an interview, it was noted by the study's director that "Bush may be 'much smarter' than the findings imply" but that he "scores particularly unimpressively for 'openness to experience, a cognitive proclivity that encompasses unusual receptiveness to fantasy, aesthetics, actions, ideas and values.'" Other estimates of the IQ of G.W. Bush have been based on his SAT score of 1206 (566 for verbal and 640 for math),[10] which would equal an IQ of around 125-129.[11][12] Still another estimate, based both on his SAT scores and IQ-type tests that he took as a required part of applying for Air Force Officer Training School in 1968, concludes that Bush has an IQ somewhere between 120 and 130.[13]

No official IQ data for George Bush is available, however.[

Over 140 - Genius or near genius

120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence

110 - 119 - Superior intelligence

90 - 109 - Normal or average intelligence

80 - 89 - Dullness

70 - 79 - Borderline deficiency

Under 70 - Definite feeble-mindedness

If Bush's is anything over 100, then that shows you just what alcohol abuse does to brain cells. I consider him to be a wet-brain anyway, and in fact, believe him to be back on the bottle.

No I can't prove it, but that's my opinion from observation and I'm entititled to it.

He had an SAT score of 1206? Wow. That's incredibly stupid. I had an ACT score of 22 and I didn't even sleep that night.

Alcohol abuse actually doesn't do much permanent damage to the brain.

Qualitatively, these all seem to apply to Shrub.
