He could be a "Texas Barack Obama" but not a nationwide one, imo.

Republicans, prior to the Magat takeover believed they could run and win with the first woman POTUS candidate or even Tim Scott, because they believed they could draw independent, women, and some dem voters to cross over. They also believed the Dems would struggle more to get a Woman or PoC elected POTUS as the republican cross over would be smaller.

In that way Talarico could be Texas's Obama, in that he might get enough cross over from the more moderate and independents in Texas to him due to his religious and conservative views.
