Is Recent U.S. Policy Towards China Productive??

If you believe it is productive, pls explain how it is productive..

If you believe it is NOT productive, pls explain how it is NOT productive..

Yes.
China is no longer some third rate country copying CDs and the latest Movies. It is on a par with First World Countries in the area of Technology. China is on the verge of overtaking the US in Artificial Intelligence and 5G technology.

It's similar to the Russians putting Sputnik into Space.

"History changed on October 4, 1957, when the Soviet Union successfully launched Sputnik I. The world's first artificial satellite was about the size of a beach ball (58 cm.or 22.8 inches in diameter), weighed only 83.6 kg. or 183.9 pounds, and took about 98 minutes to orbit the Earth on its elliptical path. That launch ushered in new political, military, technological, and scientific developments. While the Sputnik launch was a single event, it marked the start of the space age and the U.S.-U.S.S.R space race."

Very good point this is a big part of the problem..

is what trump is doing productive, pls explain how it is productive..

is what trump is doing NOT productive, pls explain how it is NOT productive..

He's putting a Spotlight on the Problem and bringing Attention to what 'everyone knows, but don't want to bring up'.

China needs to comply with "Stealing is Bad" concept, or all other Countries need to adopt the Chinese Model and start "Stealing from China".

They want you/me/everyone to respect their patents etc but them not so much..

Competition there is extreme & cutthroat & if you are sitting on your laurels & patents you're not gonna last long in that environment

Isn’t it the price companies pay to steal their labor? Companies don’t have to move to China and do business. They could stay in America where their intellectual properties are protected.

I agree it is 'cutthroat'. They could still be pissed off about this:

"It is believed that Nestorian Christian monks were sent by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I as spies on the Silk Road from Constantinople to China to steal the silkworm eggs, resulting in silk production in the Mediterranean."

there are "provincial laws"against IPR theft -but it's a shell game to look like they are really enforcing them - they clearly are not.

This is the same sticking point with the trade talks -China wants to claim they have reformed,
but when we ask for automatic enforcement mechanisms they cry "colonialism"

Yes, a price they appear eager to pay...... They are not naive.. Some of the biggest & shrewdest corporations in the world....

Yes, it was one of the most expensive thefts of all time.. Many died trying & that made Constantinople merchants very rich... A lesson the ccp learned & teaches..

A better question would be "is doing NOTHING productive?" We had that for eight years of Obamunsim. This isn't a question about "productive." It is a question of necessity. Is it necessary? Absolutely.

Unless of course you think a Marxist dictatorship is A OK stealing intellectual property, engaging in unfair trade practices, manipulate their currency and exploit their citizens and the environment. Then you would be dumb enough to think that eight years of DO-NOTHING Obamunism was the answer.

China is most certainly a third world shit hole. If you ever went there, you would know this. The average citizen in China earns about $7,872. Most people live in cramped quarters and can never hope to own a home.

China is a backwards nation that exploits its citizens and its environment to promote a tyrannical dictatorship. There is no freedom and there are no liberties except for the well connected and Government apparatchiks.

How do US companies steal labor? I cannot imagine a moron moronic statement lacking anything connected to reality or a fact.

China is NOT a shithole -home ownership exceeds the USA
https://tradingeconomics.com/china/home-ownership-rate
Home Ownership Rate in China remained unchanged at 90 percent in 2014 from 90 percent in 2013. Home Ownership Rate in China averaged 90.00 percent from 2013 until 2014, reaching an all time high of 90.00 percent in 2014 and a record low of 90.00 percent in 2014.

companies do not ALL manufacture in the USA ( Trump's desires notwithstanding ) there are inheent advantages for some companies to manufacture and do business in China.

Chinese supply chains are being hurt though as users are shifting to Vietnam , Indonesia and other East Asian rising powers

interesting, but that's not the reason for New Silk Road (BRI).
It's their use of soft power,it's insidious in that nations go into debt to get the infrastructure ( like ports)
and then default ownership to China!

The adult population of China is 1,112,836,099 billion. The notion that 1,001,552,489 of them own a home is nothing more than fantastical bullshit.

The average wage in China is not even $8,000 annually.

I guess if you are counting shacks and sheds as homes.
