Alvida King just said on the news that when she and a friend went to vote, the election worker did not require ID or require voters to sign in as required by law in her state.......how do you catch fraud if you refuse to look for it?......

They were qualified voters. Where is the fraud? When I voted at the booths, I rarely had to show my proof, even after the law required it. I knew most of the people working there.

Just because they were doesn't mean everybody else was. When there are no checks on who's voting, anybody can cheat if they want to.

So you dont want people to have to prove who they are in order to vote and then claim there is no evidence of voter fraud? I'd ask if you see the problem but I know better.

No proof, though. Anecdotal evidence is not proof. People should use their phone's video recording capabilities in cases like this.

You get a voter card when you register. Your registration is checked. Then you are assigned a precinct and a polling place. The fact you show up and your signature is accepted', is proof. Do you really think someone has all that info about you? Do you think they would spend all that time and trouble for one vote and it would be worth it? C'mon get off that. People voting for others at the polls has been shown over and over to be near zero.

Did she file a police report on the crime(s)? How will these crimes be stopped if nobody reports them?

None of that is convincing evidence. If I don't have to prove who I am then a signature is shit. I can't walk into a bank give a signature and get money. Get off the idiocy of the infallibility of the signature. Anyone who seriously cares about this would demand that people be required to prove who they are when they voted.

You have to know their name. You have to be able to write their signature and pass. You have to know their precinct and polling place.
Is there anyone you know that you could fake? If you did. one and got away with it, that one vote would swing nothing. The whole operation would be silly and the person risks significant jail time. You have not thought it out.

No, you don't. All you need is a voter roll that is available to basically anyone who wants one. Both parties have access to these. The signature part is easy today. You use a generic signature program to print the signature on the ballot. It only has to pass--in most places-- an electronic scan that decides the signature is 40 to 50% a match. Even if you have a say 50% rejection rate on several thousand ballots turned in, you win. The names you pick are all ones that haven't voted in an election in say, three to five or more years. Those become the names you use as they are likely to not be duplicated by actual voters.
In fact, a large and well-funded operation could be printing ballots that are as good as the real thing. There's no controls on the ballot to prevent that.

Using mail-in, you are virtually invulnerable to being found out. Ballot harvesting makes it even easier. You print your ballots, electronically sign them with a semi-random selection of common signature styles, then have an operative deliver them in mass to a voting office. The operative need only be non-descript in appearance to be forgettable. You couldn't do this with in-person voting even without voter ID. But you can do it with mail-in ballots and ballot harvesting. You have the time, you have the means, and you are not at high risk of exposure as it is all done out-of-sight.

This was my fourteenth presidential election--1968-2020--and only the second time that I had to show my passport or driver's license.
It's total bullshit, and anybody with two brain cells to rub together knows it.

Did you report them?

Agreed. If voters weren't being checked in accordance with the laws of their state or with Federal laws (covering Federal elections), then Americans should have enough civic pride to report them.

FWIW, I've always been checked, but it wasn't always with a picture ID. Just my voter's registration card. Now it's a picture ID. Fine with me.
