I fully answered your question. How is being pro-Jim Crow mutually exclusive with being for smaller government, fiscal responsibility, respect for the life of the unborn, and military preparedness? The southern strategy was designed to fit them all together. It worked. Mehlman knew that and felt he needed to apologize to the NAACP for it.

I didn't say they were mutually exclusive. You're implying they're inextricably linked.

I asked how they were connected with Jim Crow?

And for that matter, how does bigger government and the welfare state become indicative of anti-Jim Crow? I already pointed out how Theodore Bilbo's positions did not make them mutually exclusive.

That wasn't the premise or claim of the thread; it claimed that the South became "red" as a result of Democratic racists switching to the Republican Party and that black folk then started voting for Democrats after the CRA.

Both are proven falsehoods. As I clearly stated and illustrated, it wasn't until 1995 that things started changing in the South which pretty much blows up the dimwitted theories expressed by dunces like you and Jarod.

that has always been my premise. the south is still full of negro hating racists... the democratic party abandoned them, so they started voted for republicans... national maps show that to be the case.
