Is the Civil Rights movement what turned the South Republican for 50 years..

lol.... well... that certainly is ONE spin on it... and a creative one at that!

We're still waiting to see what you have to offer connecting the GOP's ascendancy in the south in the 1990s to the elimination of Jim Crow in the 1960s.

So far all we've gotten is bloviation.

Ken Mehlman described the process pretty well:

"Republican candidates often have prospered by ignoring black voters and even by exploiting racial tensions," and, "by the '70s and into the '80s and '90s, the Democratic Party solidified its gains in the African-American community, and we Republicans did not effectively reach out. Some Republicans gave up on winning the African-American vote, looking the other way or trying to benefit politically from racial polarization. I am here today as the Republican chairman to tell you we were wrong."

And, of course, Democrats *NEVER* exploited racial tensions?

Assuming you have an ounce of honesty flowing in your veins, the next question is: Have they ever apologized for it?

A big "NO" there....

Which is why I say Mehlman is a coward. He should have pointed out the double standards of the lamestream lapdog liberal news media instead of apologizing.

I never once suggested that democrats have never exploited racial tensions. I only said that the GOP did so in a concerted effort to take the south away from the democratic party in the period after the passage of the CRA. Did it happen instantaneously? Of course not. Did it happen? Obviously.

And the Democrats exploited it in a manner to take the black vote away from the GOP.

How do you explain this moral high ground you seem to think you're standing upon?

This is a lie also.
