Yeah and the Church spoke for 90% of the people that thought the earth was at the center of the universe. You seem to think that if you hold the same beliefs that 90% of a group hold that you are right. 90% belief that 2+2=5 does not make it true.

The truth doesn't hurt. Just because 90% of any group believes the same thing (group think?) does not make it true. You are the one that is trying to say that because you may be in the majority of soldiers on an issue it means you are right. That stand fails even the most cursory examination using logic. There are many things that the majority believed in the past that turned out to be false.

How do you sleep at night...being that you claim to be a Army vet and all...when 90% of us are against 'Code Pink'...for good reason...where was it you defected?

I didn't defect. When the WTC was attacked I was all for going after the people that acutally did it. They were all living in Afghanistan at the time. But instead, Bush did the old bait and switch and tried to sell us a bill of goods on Iraq, because he and his ilk thought that the war in Iraq would be over and done with in 2006 and he could say "see I got the cock suckers that did it." But he didn't. Instead he went after a real piece of shit in Saddam Hussein and in the process of it he radicalized Iraq. There were no radical Islamist Terrorist Organizations in Iraq while Saddam was in charge. See unlike you, not that I am out, I can look at the WHOLE picture and see that it was a cluster fuck. I don't have to think that just because the CiC gives an order to invade country that I have to agree with it and that if I do disagree with it that I don't support the men and women in uniform. The Surge is working, but that is because it was an idea that was arrived at by people who were not involved in the cluster fuckery to begin with. I hang out with a lot of the guys that are members of the Special Forces Association here in town. After the actual overthrow of Saddam was accomplished, everyone of them, to a man, agreed that there was no where near enough soldiers there to provide security for a country in which we had disbanded the military and the police. You don't seem to care that not only have about 4k soldiers been killed but thousands and thousands of men and women have been wounded to an extent that they will not recover. The number of head traumas alone is going to have a long term effect on vets and the VA. But you give two shits about that. So long as this country stays the course if we have to fight a 30 year war of occupation that will be fine with you. If this war was going EXACTLY as it is now but Bill Clinton was incharge you would be complaining everyday that the war was fucked up and Clinton doesn't know what he is doing. And you would be right. But because the war is being prosecuted by one of your fellow travelers you don't say shit about it. I bet you raised holy hell when a FEW soldiers were drug through the streets of Mogadishu because some guy with a RPG fired a golden bb shot and brought a helocopter down. I bet you cussed Clinton for that one boy howdy. But this clusterfuck gets the Battleborne seal of Approval.

This war has not mad us any safer. What has made us safer is the rebuilding of the intelligence agencies in this country. We are NOT fighting them in Iraq so we don't fight them here. We are fighting them in Iraq because our president was too chickenshit to fight them in Afghanistan where they should have been fought. I support the troops a shit load more than you do. I actually worked WITH SF, I didn't just drop them off at their LZ. I learned from some of the best SF SSgts and SFC's Special Ops command had to offer. They taught me more about how to defeat an enemy using someone else than bush knows about how to defeat an enemy using his own troops.

I don't oppose the use of the american military to defeat an enemy. I do oppose the stupid use of those soldiers to fight a war that was not well thought out and does not go after the enemy that attacked us. You probably would have bombed Cuba on December 8th 1941 instead of declaring war on Japan.

You did not answer the question...where was it you defected...and I take notice to your saying I don't give a hoot about the injuries to our vets ie:trauma...gollly gee I am on a 19% Va disability and all as were alot of my friends...this holds no water with me...and now comes Murtha et al agreeing the surge is working...how strange is this...we the real soldiers said this would happen way before y'all did the back peddle thingee...nice one Murtha et al apologist.........:rolleyes:

The whole post tells you where I haven't defected. I knew that if we really took this fight to the people responsible for 9-11 it would be a long hard drawn out fight, but it would have been against the enemy that attacked us not some jousting dummy in Iraq

Battle thinks that war solves everything, and that W is a great leader, and if you disagree with that, then you're a traitor. He's a pretty simple old fart, but I like him anyway.
 
It doesn't feel like it to me. It feels more like cutting out the chaff. A leaner, wiser, actually fiscally conservative R Party is what is called for. I feel another "Contract with America" coming soon.

And I don't believe that anyone who disagrees on the surge and mission completion is a traitor...just ill informed...well except for 'Code Pink' et al...they are traitors imho!

Are you suggesting we should have attacked Saudi Arabia...if so maybe Iraq is the staging point along with Afghanistan...puts Iran in a boxed arena...separates them from the Motherland...Saudi Arabia!;)
