Is the West Becoming Pagan Again?

Yes. The belief is that he, an immortal being, was placed in a human body, tortured and mortally executed to arise again because...wait for it...he was fucking immortal. Not exactly a high mark of "Risk" in my person assessment of risks.

High risk are things like Evil Knievel was known for. An immortal being returning to immortality is low risk, IMO.

OTOH, humans are naked apes and they really, really like fire and human sacrifice. This is seen in our brutality to our fellow man in most social circumstances.

Blah blah immortal blah blah blah sacrifice blah blah blah,

But then cant even guess what "jesus" sounded like in the original latin....

precisely consistent with what I wrote.

Our intellectual heritage is from antiquity.

We learned logic and reason from Aristotle and Plato.

We learned history from Herodotus and Thucydides.

We learned math from Euclid and Archimedes.

We learned drama and poetry from Sophocles and Homer.

We learned law and architecture from the Romans.

Our day to day social ethics, norms, and cultural values comes in substantial extent from the West's two thousand year engagement with Judeo-Christianty.

You keep saying that. If that were true, we would be a Society like Saudi Arabia. Witches would be hung, Heretics crucified, Homosexuals killed outright. You seem to think the world was filled with Cro-Magnons until, miraculously, Jesus came along 2,000 years ago, and saved the world. 'Religion' ... stifles 'Thought'. 'Religion' is dogmatic. Puritans killing Quakers in Massachusetts, is that your "social ethics, norms, and cultural values"?

That's the very definition of Christianity!
The battle between denominations is ,is it symbolic that you're eating and drinking the Passover Lamb and his blood.Or does the food and drink literally become the Passover Lamb's body and blood when the food and drink is blessed before eating. In this context the Passover Lamb is the Last Super the body and blood of Jesus.

All this blah blah blah but then no one checks the latin meaning of the pronunciation of "jesus"

Lol

Hey yall, what does harry potter have for breakfast? Lol

Whole thread of fanciful stooge.

True, and there is a lot of evidence that it is very bad for us. That has been perhaps the biggest failure of technical society....that we do what is possible and what is profitable, that we give almost no mind to what is good for us. I split with Bret and Heather here, who believe that the problem is too much change too fast, it is the rate of change that is the major problem. No, it is that we far too often do what we should not do, which is a little bit different.

That's the thing! It is to much change to fast.
And why we try to explain what's going on,it's evolving faster than we can get a grip on things.

That sounds ... Pagan.

Only if you're confusing celts etc. as pagans.

Actually refers to golden goat worshippers from hebrew days and never honestly had much to do with celts, norse etc.

But ya, she is in fact a dumbshit that calls herself pagan. Knew this slag from way back on Mike Malloy forums.

Same old stupid slag as ever.

I don't know enough about today's definition of what exactly is Pagan today.

Yeah, you're not a Christian, so you can now fuck off on hounding me asking me if I am.

I believe in God and probably things that you don't. Doesn't mean I'm some saint, I'm a normal cracker with all that comes with that. I don't think I'm better than anyone else, but also they're not any better than me.
You're constantly searching for an "In" to patronize me. Nothing irks me more in this world than that.

What you need is a good punch in the mouth.

I am a mystic who nursed on the ancient wisdom of Zen and the Tao....it is very clear to me that the problem is more what we have lost than what we have gained.
