There's A-grade 100 year old sidewalks even in the ghetto here. The good stuff has like.. granite for aggregate.

A lot of older sidewalks and curbs back East aren't concrete, they're cut stone and laid in place. I know the Naval War College in Rhode Island has actual cut granite curbing in many areas, for example. That surprised me the first time I was there.

Depends on the construction. I bet those things on the soffit are fake and don't correspond to real trusses.

Do you live in a warm area? Because I live in Pennsylvania and the sidewalks regularly move in the winter when the ground freezes. it makes shoveling a bitch but they settle back in the warm weather.

Richest? We've struggled for decades to find the money to fix our infrastructure. We can't afford universal healthcare or free public universities. Our leaders even debate welfare for needy parents.

I'd agree with that. It can't be all bad. It could have r20 insulation and good drywall instead of Loblolly pine slats and plaster, too.
