so what i will say is both things can be true.

It is absolutely true that Trump wants:

- to incite the left into escalating and violent protests so he can declare an Insurrection and seize more power to the POTUS
- he would gladly however just silence the left and any all public criticism, as he has been trying to do with the Media and Law firms who have tried to oppose him

So know those two things are BOTH at play, it is important, yes, to not give Trump what he wants, while trying to balance what must be done.

Mass protests are ABSOLUTELY necessary and should happen, but they need to look more like the No Kings rallies where Trumps desire for any excuse to have his forces reply with violence to try and escalate simply cannot be seen as justified by any citizen who sees the video footage.

Suppressing protest is 'Wish 1' of all wannabe Dictator. 'Wish 2' is finding an excuse to violently engage any such protest to make citizens fear joining any further ones thus letting them achieve 'Wish 1'.

That nuance is important.

I am constantly wondering why the hate, the scorn, contempt, anger toward the left and toward their fellow posters. Why no community at all from them.

There is no way I would ever be what is known as "a conservative" (especially a conservative as defined by MAGA)...but I can understand why some people are drawn to it. One of its central elements is something with which I am in total agreement, namely: Free enterprise is the strongest economic growth factor ever on this planet, PERIOD.

But that does not mean we have to abandon the kinds of safety net programs that are needed in a society as complex as ours. Both can exist reasonably side by side. We are so rich that not only can both exist...they can probably both exist in their strongest forms ever.
