Allowing the General Assembly to take action when the Security Council has not, is not the same thing as allowing the General Assembly to override a resolution actively approved by the UN Security Council.Resolution 377, also known as the "Uniting for Peace" resolution, allows the United Nations General Assembly to take action when the Security Council is unable to maintain international peace due to a lack of consensus among its permanent members.
