Israeli forces shell UN headquarters in Gaza

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - Israeli forces shelled the United Nations headquarters in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, setting fire to the compound filled with hundreds of refugees as U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon was in the area on a mission to end Israel's devastating offensive against the territory's Hamas rulers.

This is amazing. An act of terrorism. But, "everybody knows" that Israel "goes out of their way to ensure as few civilians are killed as possible" so they're the good guys.

What a joke. Their asses ought to be hauled up to the world court to answer for war crimes, period.

Way past time to stop asking Israel .. treat them like South Africa .. The world should Boycott, Divest, and Sanction Israel and the United States

Is it possible that the US didn't actually try to bomb the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, or do you think that Clinton ordered that one?

I think it is entirely possible they were after a different, although nearby, target.

Although it is very ironic, and I hope nobody was seriously hurt, I'm not ready to believe that Israel actually tried to kill refugees at the UN compound.

Gaza is about the size of Boulder, CO. I can see that happening, targets are packed in with non-targets in a nut to butt fashion that would have made my Boot Camp instructors proud. Add to that the other side's urge to hide weapons among especially 'politically dangerous' targets and you get a fire at the UN compound.

Yeah, they keep saying things like "oh, but there were weapons there" or "people were firing from there".

I suppose if there were, say, some journalists there to verify all this then i might be more inclined to believe it.
