Remember when you guys feared Tiananmen square and Stalinist military parades so much that after the actual event occurred you were left with nothing but to quibble about one word in a 45 minute speech and laughing at the rain? Pepridge farm remembers.

It wasn't a "celebration of America's birthday," rather, Trump pimping a "celebration of America's birthday" to make it all about him

This year was only the dry run, the main goal is next year heading into the election, he'll make damn sure those grandstands are full and people are actually paying attention and use it for the political rally most thought he was going to have this year. It will be the "greatest parade ever attended by the most people ever," and if it rains then, it will be "the Democrats fault"

He only supports the 2nd as another way to deceive voters. He would abandon the entire Constitution in a heartbeat if he thought that he could get away with it, and many of his cultists would just cheer him on.

Because America has checks and balances, Trump has not become another Stalin. However, if the country continues its march towards the Far Right, it's possible that we end up with a Republican able to do what Stalin did.
